My Journey

Born and raised in the historic tea port of Boston, MA, I relocated to California after college to pursue a career that unexpectedly involved logistics and supply chain management. However, my passion for the beverage industry quickly took over.

I founded SteepBean in 2018 as a side project to document my specialized research. A year later, I left the corporate world to dedicate myself fully to writing, educating, and growing this community. I’ve since published hundreds of articles covering everything from single-origin bean traceability to the history of Darjeeling.

My philosophy is rooted in respect for the leaf and the bean. I share in-depth knowledge and actionable tips, ensuring that you feel confident and successful—whether you are investing in your first French Press or exploring complex oxidation levels.
